Caught the Make Zine podcast that interviews Andrew Baron, the guy behind the Rocket Boom video log/podcast. Andrew is well on his way to establishing an alternate network for internet news and events. RocketBoom makes their downloads available via an RSS feed and their content is licensed under a Creative Commons license. He mentioned that they now have field reporters which gives the RocketBoom shows a broader reach for events and news. They have so many folks submitting content that they are setting up an ancillary site, The Human Wire to make the event reports available to a wider audience. As of this writing The Human Wire Site is still under construction.
